Today Qatar Airways unveiled a new business class seat today – the Q Suite.
At the travel trade fair ITB in Berlin, Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker said that the airline was “Raising the bar for business travel. An it certainly has.
“The QSuite is a partitioned suite that will provide each passenger with a private enclave throughout the flight. Customisable spaces, these suites can be conjoined to create the first-ever double bed available in business class, as well as a “cabin within a cabin” constructed when adjustable panels and movable TV monitors are stowed away to fuse four individual suites into a private communal space for friends and families travelling together.” – Telegraph
It looks like the new seats will be across the Qatar fleet, in B777s and A350s, and a new seat development for the B787s as this new seat currently can’t fit in the 787.
All the current fleet will be retrofitted with the new seats, but with exceptions. The first aircraft “will be the B777 that flies to London next June”, according to the CEO.
