British Airways, New Thinking, New Flying

Yesterday, British Airways launched its investment plans for customers, focusing on excellence in the premium cabins and more choice and quality for all on a charter flight from London Gatwick to London Heathrow.

What’s New?

Exclusive to London Heathrow Terminal 5, The First Wing has just opened offering a dedicated premium space with an enhanced, private check-in area, two exclusive security lanes and a direct walkway to the lounges.

A few examples of how BA will simplify and speed up your journey through the airport are:

  • Self-service Bag Drop desks at London Heathrow and Gatwick
  • Self-boarding gates using facial recognition technology

BA will be transforming your experience in Club World, on their long haul business cabin.

In June, BA will be introducing more choice and better quality food and drinks in the lounges

In September, A new restaurant-style dining service on board will start, featuring beautiful new table settings and display trolleys for you to select freshly prepared dishes.

From July you can enjoy a more comfortable sleep in the sky and relax on your fully flat bed with new linen, a bigger pillow, soft mattress topper and plump duvet.

All these changes will be introduced on flights between London and New York (JFK) before they’re rolled out to the rest of our long haul network during 2018. And last but not least, you can look forward to a new Club World seat with direct aisle access in 2019.

And finally, starting early summer with selected long-haul Boeing 747s BA will fit their planes with the latest generation Wi-Fi. You will be able to use your smartphone, tablet or laptop to send and receive messages, listen to music online, stream videos, post pictures and a lot more… at a price (yet to be confirmed)
